Arts to me is a creative process, in which I can write poetry and prose that draw pictures. In the past, I have published a full-length book, some chapbooks, did some beading and other crafts. My focus is now mainly on poetry and prose. I am now writing a book of poetry and prose while I learn to create memoirs and fictions. I feel that doing a tree and brainstorming is far easier than writing an outline. I begin with free writing in any genre, and then create my plan from the free writing. I am hoping to persevere and improve my writing in poetry and prose, as well as try to envision a first place prize in a contest and an award which I can call my own. What surprises people is how good of a writer I am and how creative my writing has become. I never cease to get the pen roll on the page, and in journaling, I write an accurate description of the person I encounter. I then can use the descriptions in writing a future piece of fiction or a memoir, even if I have to build up a character. I write evening pages because I have never been much for the morning pages, and I use the evening pages to clear my mind before I go to bed.
