Stephanie likes to involve herself with as many different mediums as she can. She is fascinated by what can be expressed through this variety, and in finding where artistic boundaries are defined. Life itself can be expressed through the diversity of mediums used. She loves to draw with pencils because the shades of grey often represent the complexities of existence for her.
She was born in BC in 1962, but grew up in Ontario and lived a long time in both Cobourg and Kingston. In 2002, she returned to British Columbia after teaching overseas. Her first opportunity to study art came in 1990 when an artist took an interest in her and invited her to an art class. Recently she has participated in three art classes and this has been groundwork for her enthusiasm to practice art. She appreciates the big things and the little things in life and she thinks that her dedication to detail in her work is part of her path.
