TOPOGRPAHY: a collage series on panel that are a tribute to the endurance of an old Vancouver building in my neighbourhood which is still standing but surrounded by condo towers. Although I live in a condo tower and look out daily on Vancouver: the City of Glass nicknamed by Douglas Coupland, I shun all that is reflective and shiny and embrace the rusty corroded steel and the pitted and textured corrugated siding that has been eroded by wind and rain. Topography Collages offer an alternative concept of beauty to cherish.

Exploring multitude of materials, examining probing, discovering are my research methods of choice.

Mixed media collages allow me to approach the full limits of this exploration. I value my ability to use many different mediums to express my ideas. My art vocabulary is always growing. The hours I spend in my studio entertains me and fills me with deep satisfaction.

As a mixed media artist working with various materials is my passion. My education includes an M.Ed degree from the University of British Columbia (1969) and I worked as an art educator for many years.

Now retired, I work in my Parker Street studio enjoying all the challenges my materials give me.

Sculpture, painting, drawing, installations are all part of what I like to do. I have been exhibiting my art locally for the past 20 years in numerous solo and group shows. I enjoy exploring new materials and processes more than repeating past successes.
