Vancouver-born artist, loved drawing since grade one. Fortunate in having gifted teachers early in life. Creative talent runs in the family.
I love nature, history, travel, socializing, and relaxing. Fine arts training in Vancouver followed by a post-grad year in China to visit our forebears' land.
Once, my film camera and I were inseparable. Studied with wonderful photographer, Jim Brueckleman, at Emily Carr. On outings, I plan to shoot a lot. Reifel Bird Sanctuary idyllic. In the Spring, we witnessed the Sandhill cranes mating. Awesome! Happy to see the elegant Northern pintail, one of numerous migrating ducks. Water ducks are my favourite birds.

- Emperor penguin with chick is a mixed media 5" x 7" drawing using Conte, pencil, and water colour. Manet and I both block in (light wash), then layer over that shape.
- Gentoo penguin on a cliff away from nest (relieving itself into ocean). A pen drawing = stronger picture
- Elephant pencil drawing, softer finish
- Ink drawing of elephant
- Umbrella Painting - Unique project. Labour intensive using Sharpies, those little tips.
Chose fish theme believing fish simple to draw on umbrella and fish swimming in rain.
On day of cherry blossom tour, I had collected my dried, completed painted umbrella.
