Norma Jean Baptiste (1954-2010)

Norma Jean is fondly remembered as the co-founder of Harmony of Nations, a drum group comprised of members from the Downtown Eastside. Many people will miss her big smile and hilarious laughter. She put massive amounts of positive energy into her drumming and singing performances as well as her volunteer work in the Senior’s Lounge at the Carnegie Community Center.

Harmony of Nations has carried on, and their performances and traditional songs heal and bring hope to those recovering from addictions.

Norma Jean passed away on April 15, 2010.
