Larissa Healey, known artistically as Gurl23, is an urban warrior of Anishinabek descent. As a woodland artist and graffiti painter, Larissa’s works have covered the walls of the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Bill Reid Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada, and the streets in Vancouver. As an experienced facilitator and teacher, Larissa has dedicated her life to educating youth and communities about the importance of graffiti as an art form, and the power of creativity. She works day by day to be warrior of light in Vancouver. As a Sixties Scoop survivor, artist, and fancy dancer, Gurl23 places at the centre of her work a love of her culture and identity.
