I like making things, I always have.
When I was 10 I made a sculpture of my aunt on a bike with her baby, all made out of recycled tin foil, cereal boxes and styrofoam! The materials used might have changed-but this girl has not!
I am a self-taught artist, residing in the DTES. I create in many mediums including, but not limited to; ceramics, acrylics, oils, wood, fabric and wax. With a BA in Intercultural Studies, my work is both informed and inspired by themes of travel, cross-cultural connection, heritage and social justice. I plan to use the grant to explore both my own heritage and encaustic art. I also will be launching a new arts collective that will be delving into the inspiring world of literature.
