My painting reflects a celebration of life. The seeds of love planted in fertile ground,grounded in love. Words like encouragement, kindness, new beginnings, gentleness of course. Water. Community is so important. It's where you grown and learn to love myself and others. It's breaking chains of fear,isolation,intimidation,and being bold-yes. To honor my Mom and Dad , it's so important to forgive one another, to make it right. My name is Karen. I'm living in Vancouver. What a great opportunity having a Small Arts Grant. I'm thankful for those who support me. Being in community with others,surrounding me. There are painters in my family,of artwork; My Grandmother,my Mom,she handed me her brushes and some paints. She saw something in me and encouraging me,I'm in community now, with great support to me. It breaks isolation,brings new ideas,learning to step out and have fun and enjoy.
