My work predominantly uses sculpture and text, often turning ideas literally upside down, inside out and backwards to see them in a different way. Concrete, plaster, fabric and ready-made cultural objects comprise the majority of my work as I seek to disrupt their original meaning in order to draw attention to alternative views concerning power.
I explore my perceptions of powerlessness in a capitalist and patriarchal world as a female, while at the same time coming to terms with my white colonial privilege. I am interested in the power structures we live and participate in, particularly those that are so engrained that they are largely invisible. I am especially interested in exploring alternative views of the world in order to provide a more complete picture of the whole.
