Courtney was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada. After spending a few summers in between school semesters tree planting, she finally embarked on a journey overseas. Courtney studied in the northern city of Norway, called Tromsø before moving south a bit to Trondheim for a few years. After arriving back in Canada, Courtney went on to finish her degree in Psychology and Minor in Studio Arts from the University of Saskatchewan. After graduating, she went on to study and excel in Interior Design at VCAD in Vancouver, BC., where she now resides. She now marries both Interior Design and Art as a career.
Courtney's first passion was art. Studying human figures, animal anatomy, and both oil and acrylic paintings for five years throughout her university career. Art has always aided in maintaining a sense of sanity for Courtney. She also works as a freelance Interior Designer, founding her own practice, Høst Interior Design, but keeps a balance creating works of art that will transform, or complete a space. Courtney works with a variety of mediums. From charcoal and conte when creating figure drawings, to acrylic paint, pencil, soft pastel, oil pastel, acrylic mediums, and foil, for her abstracts.
